Voluminous Haircut

Voluminous Haircut submitted by Sof. The hair here is golden brown in colour, medium length with layered and bangs.

Pinned updo Hairstyle

Not really an updo, but it certainly looks like one. First tie your hair up in a really high ponytail, but not quite so that it sits at the top of your head. If you have naturally curly, not wavy, hair then skip this step. Curl every section of your hair into an O so that your entire ponytail is full of tightly curled Os. Then pin them up into your head. Every little curl. pin it up, and if you want leave some tendrils hanging down to frame your face, and curl those too. I hope that this will work out for you!

Modern Classic Updo

This modern classic updo hairstyle  is achieved by pinning your curls inward individually. when you get to the middle, start placing each curl in opposite directions over the other curl. twist up the sides and straighten the bangs to one side with a pin and your done :-)

Thick Frizzy Curly Hair

Question: Hi guys..i have extremly thick hair which is frizzy and curly also. Any ideas on how to care or manage my thick frizzy and curly hair and how can find a suitable hairstyle for thick curly hair.

Answer by Gari: I have found a few things that have worked for thick, frizzy, curly hair.

1. Don’t colour your hair. It dries it out incredibly and only makes your hair more ssuceptible to being frizzy, coarse, thick, puffy etc. etc.

2. Flat iron. It’s your best friend. NOTE: Always use a pre-flat iron spray to protect your hair. Otherwise, the heat from the flatiron is only damaging your hiar further. If you’d rather curly hair, use a diffuser on your hair dryer. DO NOT BLOW DRY YOUR HAIR. That could be a biggest mistake as it only made it puffy-er. If you must blow dry… use the cold air option. Hot air only fries it.

3. Try BedHead products. They are very helpful, I find. Try the BedHead after party smoothing cream and use a little after you flat iron. Just make sure you comb after you apply it as well, to keep your hair from looking greasy. Also, try the BedHead styling wax to control fly aways.

4. Absolutley do not use a volumizing shampoo (as if that isn’t already clear) Try Garnier Nutrisse Silk & Shine. All natural ingredients and NO chemicals to burn your hair and dry it out ever more than it already is.

5. USE CONDITIONER EVERYTIME YOU SHOWER! Leave it in for 2-3 minutes and then rinse completely. (If needed, use a shampoo for damaged and coloured hair as well. It totally restores it)
*Another awesome shampoo I ran across a few years ago was Paul Mitchell ’super skinny’. It worked fantastically.

Ask a professional hair stylist to give you layers, also. Layered hairstyles takes so much thickness out of your hair. Ask them to use ‘texturizing scissors’. They are made specifically for thick, unruly hair and cut the thickness without affecting the length! SO GREAT.

Keep in mind that having thick hair has a lot more benefits to having thin hair. You are the envy of so many brittle haired individuals! Work your hairstyle!

Dry Flaky Scalp

Question: My Hair scalp feels dry and flaky after my holiday? Does that mean I have dandruff problem? Kindly tell what should I do to make my scalp and hair healthy free of any dryness and dandruff.

Answer: It is more than likely that you have burnt you scalp in the sun while you were away during the holiday and the skin on your scalp is peeling. Dandruff tends to be more common among people who have oily hair, not a dry scalp. So it you have post-holiday flakes, visit your hair salon for an intensive deep-conditioning treatment that includes a scalp treatment to feed the hair as well as soothe and rehydrate the skin on your head. Don’t rush for the nearest anti-dandruff shampoo unless the problem persists well after you return. If, after a few weeks, you still see flakes or dandruff in your hairline, try using an anti-dandruff shampoo every other day. When lathered up, remember to leave the shampoo for a few minutes to allow the dandruff control ingredients to work, moisturizing and exfoliating the scalp. Alternate anti-dandruff shampoo with your usual shampoo until the problem clears.
