Braid Hair Styles

There are many different types of hairstyles that incorporate braids. If you are interested in a hairstyle which includes braids for yourself or your child, then consider one of the following braids hairstyles. Keep in mind that these are just a few of the many different braids hairstyles out there.
Types of Braid Hair Styles
French Braid
The French Braid is a very popular hairstyle, particularly among younger children and older women. It is a hairstyle in which a braid is gradually woven throughout all of the hair. It is typically kept very close to the head, though it is not uncommon for some French Braids to be worn more loosely.
Cornrows
Cornrows are a hairstyle that has slowly began to fade, though it is still worn among teenagers and young women, as well as men. It is known to be one of the most painful braiding techniques, as it is worn very close to the head. Cornrows can be kept very basic, but it is also common for them to be designed creatively.
Pigtails
Pigtails are commonly worn among young children and are also a characteristic of the stereotypical “school girl” look. The idea of pigtails is very basic. They are simply two braids that are worn on each side of the head. At the end of each braid, pigtails are often accompanied by some type of hair accessory to dress up the hair style, such as bow. It is more common for pigtails to be worn loosely, though you can also wear them snugger to the head if you prefer.
