If you are interested in a hairstyle that is not only stylish but that is also easy to maintain, you may want to opt for a shag hair style. One of the best things about shag hairstyles is that they can be worn by anyone, male or female. There are a number of different variations of the shag hairstyles that you may want to take into consideration.

Short Shag Hair Style

Short shag hair styles are great for people who want hair that is incredibly easy to maintain. These hairstyles typically consist of about two to three layers. Your face will typically be framed. In the back, there may be less layers than in the front.

Medium Shag Hairstyle

Medium shag hair styles are the most common. Like short shag hair styles, they are also very easy to take care of. One of the reasons that the medium length may offer so much appeal is because you are able to make more decisions. You can choose between having only a few layers or having lots of layers.

Long Shag Hair Style

Long shag hair styles are not as common as short or medium shag hair styles. However, they do make a great option for anyone who wants a long hairstyle but does not want too many layers. The reason is because long shag hair styles do not usually include any more than two to three layers.

As you can see there are many shag hairstyles options available for you to choose from. Whether you want a long, medium or short hair style, you may want to consider a shag hair style.

#1 Marty :

I am approaching 50. I am a natural strawberry blonde (long) haired woman. My hair is blonde in summer and turns red in winter. ( I live in Alaska). I am having trouble with the gray hair taking over and am looking for a 70′s style shag. My hair is straight and thick and fine. I am thinking of highlights to cover the gray. My hairdresser says my hair will turn white. Is this true?

Please help me-I have a round/oval face, I am not overweight. I want something sexy, easy to care for and healthy.

Thank You!

Hi Marty… to answer ur question, I need to know what way ur hairdresser meant it would turn white – did she mean when it grows out or when you have the highlights put in? If its with highlights, not neccessarily right… it depends what colour you have put in as highlights. Yes ultimately your hair will turn white when all the colour grows out. I went white at age 8 from a very dark brown and I am naturally white but I keep it coloured blond and have colour streaks in it so I dont look old. A 70s shag will look great on you! I know u posted 2 yrs ago and I would like to hear how you went since the hairdressers?

I donated my hair two years ago and it has been growing ever since. I have dark brown hair, mid back, bangs, not much style, i need to decide on a haircut that will be cute but also works in a pony tail, braid, or other updo. Any suggestions?
