I’ve had people compare me to Abby from NCIS, call me emo rather than Goth, but remember, non-Goths (or mundanes) can’t wrap their puny minds around why anyone would want to stand out like a sore thumb (with nail painted a shiny, shiny black of course. ) and be DIFFERENT!!!!

@Killerbunney ; Wow, you cut your own hair? You are braver than me. I hadn’t cut my hair for ten years up until April of ’09 when I went from knee to waist length. It would probably also help to have a nice big picture of what you want, taken from all angles. Just a thought.

Weeeell, if your hair is long-ish you might try my suggestion below. Failing that, if you DON’T want to do something extreme like shiny black Barbie hair cut with a false ‘widow’s peak’-like bangs (that’s not what’s suggested below!), you could just dye your hair a darker color, perhaps auburn or a shade of brown. Some dye kits come with highlights and lowlights to make it look less…um…fake. You could get yourself some bangs cut, or some long front layers you can part to the side to frame your face. Layers like that are perfect for temporary color or short colored extensions.
And we Goths don’t frown ALL the time; there’s a subgenre called Perky Goth. =D And black is merely a suggestion. Besides you’d look silly in all of another color. (Think about it; all purple?
If you, like me have hair that is long, and I’m talking LONG, not just to your shoulders there’s a cute style I like to wear every now and then that just takes some ponytail holders, scrunchies and/or bobby pins and a good hairspray.
Put your hair in pigtails, take one pigtail and twist it, then wind it around itself to make a bun, but make sure the tail end flops over the bun.

You may have to experiment with the length of the fluffy tail end and take some time making sure they are even, then secure them.

You might even loosen some other ends from your twin buns and wind them around to add to the volume. Once you are satisfied (and you are sure it’s secure! That’s important!) spray the holy crap out of it with the hairspray and tease it with a comb. (I use Got2B Freeze Spray) When you are finished you’ll end up with spiky mini-pigtails. I always get comments for my hair when it’s like this…mostly people wondering how the hell it’s staying up. Heh.

I usually slither into HT to sneer at the bright colors. Kidding. I stay out of there entirely because I have one ex boyfriend in each HT store in my area. Both of them. ;P
